KCIPR Logo Contest Rules and Regulations

Purpose

The Kaska-Centric Independent Peer Review (KCIPR) aims to put Kaska traditional knowledge at the centre in order to better understand the potential impacts from mining and other projects on Kaska rights. KCIPR is in need of a logo that represents the Kaska people and our rights.

Prize

The prize for this contest is $1,000.

Submission Deadline

June 5, 2020 at 11:59 PM PT. Only entries received or postmarked by June 5, 2020 will be considered.

Participation

The contest is open to all members of Liard First Nation.

Submission

To be considered all entries must be submitted one of three ways:

  1. By email to KCIPR@liardfirstnation.cafirstnation.ca;
  2. As a hard copy dropped off at LFN Band Office Reception;
  3. Or mailed as a hard copy to P.O. Box 328 Watson Lake, YT, Y0A 1C0.

All submissions must include your name and two ways of contacting you e.g., phone number, cell number, email address, mailing address. We need this information to contact the winning artist!

Guidelines

  • Logo must contain a wolf and a crow integrated into the design.
  • Logo must be the original work of the submitter.
  • Logo must include the words “Kaska-Centric Independent Peer Review”.
  • Logos can be in the form of a digital file, a drawing, or a painting.
  • Contest is open to all members of Liard First Nation.
  • Members can submit multiple entries.

By submitting a logo for entry in the competition, the designer acknowledges that he/she is the person that created the logo and is the rightful owner. The designer also certifies that the logo does not infringe upon the rights of any third party and that it does not violate any copyright.

Submission Format

Digital designs must be submitted in any of the following formats: .jpg, .png, or .pdf. Images can be larger than, but must be no smaller than, three inches by three inches (3” x 3”). Hard copy submissions can be in drawing or painting form.

Judging

A committee of neutral parties will review all entries and decide on a winner. Entries will be judged on their visual appeal, adherence to the concept prompting the contest, quality of design, and ease of reproduction for the purposes stated above. Their decision will be final. Contest winner will be announced at 10:00 AM, June 9 2020 on Liard First Nation’s Facebook page.

Copyright

Liard First Nation will acquire ownership of the winning logo by assignment of copyright, and the winning designer will disclaim any trademarks and without limitation all other rights related to the design. By submitting a logo for entry in the competition, the designer acknowledges that he/she is the person that created the logo and is the rightful owner. The designer also certifies that the logo does not infringe upon the rights of any third party and that it does not violate any copyright.

Liard First Nation is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or otherwise unusable entries, including entries that are lost or unusable due to computer, internet, or electronic problems.
